When we start an entrepreneurial venture, we often want to take control of the entire creative process. We naturally want to be part of every aspect of our start up and make sure it is aligned to our personal vision. This works for solo artists; but if you’re the leader of a talented band, this will limit your group’s potential for greatness. When you cede control to others and let others excel in what they do best, you give your venture a higher probability of success. A leader’s job is to orchestrate the music and not to play all the instruments. After all, you only have two hands. In a sense, we have to loose control and free ourselves from our ego’s obsession to be part of everything. When we become nothing, we become part of everything.
