We have been brought up to be afraid of failing. The negative impression of failure is rooted in an educational system that measure success largely on our thinking abilities over our emotional intelligence, creativity, or even our athletic talent. At a young age, we have been conditioned not to fail and to always gun for the passing mark. This conditioning has wired our brain to think of failure as the opposite of success. But failure is not an end, it is a means to success. Success is the end result of a series of failures that we learn from. Just count how many times a toddler falls before they learn how to walk. When we look at success as a process of learning from our mistakes, we then realize that failure is an essential component of success. So embrace failure; but learn from it, and let success come naturally.
